Loot
You all get it, it fills your inventory, your bank, your house and you have no idea what to do with it all, yup that blasted space loot.
So here is a basic guide to aid you in what to do with your space loot and what to look for and how to get the best from your loot.
Many of you will know that you can have loot reverse engineered or RE'd as I will call it, we what does having loot RE'd do to it? Well in short it takes the best stats and adds a bonus - yes it is a small bonus but the interestign part is it takes the best numbers for the new part. Well your probably thinging well big woop my 35.2 speed engine I looted will get a 35.4 spped once I get a bonus on it. Well this is true but there is a big part of loot that is being over looked.
The RE Level The RE level tells the Shipwright how many of that type of part must be added to the RE process to get one nice new shiney part out, so say you find a Engine that is RE lvl 4 with the following stats:
Energy Draw: 5000 Mass: 35000 Yaw: 40 Pitch: 40 Roll: 40 Speed: 80
At first glance you may say wow 80 spd but the rest of the stats are trash many would just delete it, but wait on that delete key, if you found the following Engine as well (also has to be RE lvl 4)
Energy Draw: 6000 Mass: 30000 Yaw: 65 Pitch: 65 Roll: 65 Speed: 40
Again at first glance you would trash it but again wait on that delete key if these t engines where combined (yes we still need 2 more RE lvl 4 engines to complete the RE) you would get an engine with the following stats
Energy Draw: 5000 Mass: 30000 Yaw: 65 Pitch: 65 Roll: 65 Speed: 80
You can see it took the best from the items going into the RE and would use them on the new part. So lets say you found 2 more lvl 4 engines one with a Mass of 2000 and the other with an Energy draw of 500, your end result would be
Energy Draw: 500 Mass: 2000 Yaw: 65 Pitch: 65 Roll: 65 Speed: 80
Add in your 2% bonus and you now have a killer engine from 4 crappy ones. Is this a little complicarted? yup you bet it means that loot may have value it may not depends on how much effort you want to put into finding the other items needed to make the new part. As the level of the engines goes up the more stats you can effect (more parts means more fun).
So far I have RE'd about 600 loots as has Radnog and we have maybe 5 or 6 nice parts, the rest is trash and most of it is not worth selling as it would be a real waste of credits to buy a 35.2 spd engine is not going to sell all that well
Oh and also ANY RE has a rare chance of spitting out 1 of the 8 Firespray schematic parts so before you delete that loot look at the level look at the stats and either keep it or offer it to a shipwright, as it might just turn out to be a loot that when combined is going to be worth a lot or it may just be that Firspray schematic part..... you just never know
I will add more to this basic guide as time passes
Corrected error in final Engine stats
